Movin’ Melvin Brown – Song, Tap Dance, Comedy & Story!

Best described as ‘The last of the great Song and Dance Men’, Movin’ Melvin Brown is a Rhythm ‘n’ Blues legend who had two songs on the charts in the US, UK and North Europe, has worked alongside and with many of the greatest legends of music, such as James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie (who opened for Brown with The Commodores in his early career), BB King, The Isley Brothers, Smokey Robinson, and many more.

Brown’s amazing one-man show A Man, A Magic, A Music is a Musical journey through Black Music history from the 50s to the 90s. Ninety minutes of incredible and powerful stories of Soul music history and fascinating stories from Brown’s life, with singing, dancing, tap dancing, mime, robotics, as well as Comedy and Characters, such as the Black Preacher, James Brown, the Music box Dancer, the male Dancer, and more Featuring songs of Ray Charles, James Brown, Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, Jackie Wilson, The Platters, The Temptations and other music legends.

The story takes you on three parallels: 1) True stories from the fascinating entertainer’s life, growing up in the real America. 2) The life of the country (the good, the bad, and the funny) and 3) The life of all of the great Music that came out of it.

The show has sold out in Edinburgh, Edmonton, Vancouver, Adelaide, Avignon and many other Festivals around the world, earning several awards including ‘Audience Pick’ for best show in Toronto and Vancouver, ‘Outstanding solo Performer’ in New York and Ottawa, ‘Best international Act’ in Brighton UK, and more.
